The AWDA Annual Fund is critical in helping AWDA maintain its tradition of innovation and standards of service excellence. Each year, the Annual Fund is used in areas of greatest need including the purchase of new books and materials, educational programs for youth and adults as well as other areas where AWDA has been a lifeline for the Atlanta community for more than ten years.

The AWDA Annual Fund is comprised of unrestricted gifts that are made to AWDA during the fiscal year, between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. The Annual Fund is vital to AWDA’s ability to operate within budget even while costs continue to escalate. Gifts to the Annual Fund are critically important, especially during these challenging times. All contributions help us provide the best possible services to the thousands of youth and adults we serve each day.

How can you make a difference?

We need all current and former clients as well as other key stakeholders to include our volunteers, staff, board, Atlanta community leaders, as well as officials and residents and YOU to join together with us this year. We need your support more than ever. It does not matter if you are an individual or corporation, have extensive, moderate, or low income; you are equally a part of the AWDA family and you matter to us. You can make a difference in the lives of others by donating whatever you can as often as you can. All gifts of any size are sincerely appreciated and are tax deductible.

What is the AWDA Annual Fund Campaign and does AWDA have other funding?

AWDA is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization. The AWDA Annual Fund is the foundation for all basic operations of the organization. It provides the necessary financial stability for AWDA to function in the distinctive manner that the Atlanta workforce demands. It is the roots by which all daily functions of AWDA help Atlanta job seekers and employers thrive. AWDA receives most of its funding from federal and state resources  Use of these funds are often restricted and do not enable AWDA to rapidly respond to emergencies involving our clients, expand the scope of our work or respond to new innovation involving workforce development. The Annual Fund helps to fill gaps left by restricted funds. Corporate and private foundations and also individuals like you contribute to the Annual Fund. By supporting the AWDA Annual Fund your can help us increase the delivery and capacity of our programs and services for Atlanta residents.

What specifically will your gift support?

Just about everything! Contributions to the AWDA Annual Fund create opportunities for youth and adults to acquire job readiness skills, provides internships and on the job training opportunities for youth and adults. Donations also provide financial aid for college bound youth, technology instruction for adults and youth, GED readiness and general program equipment for clients.  As great things happen at AWDA, the AWDA Annual Fund had an integral role.
