EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT

Education is the gateway to jobs and success. Youth who are experiencing trouble with GED preparation, high school graduation test, having trouble reading or with simple math problems are encouraged to apply for these services.

GED Preparation or Basic Reading and Math Instruction: Atlanta Public Schools offers GED preparation at the Atlanta One-Stop Center. Classes are offered from 8:30am - 12:30pm and from 1:30pm - 5:00pm. If you are under the age of 18, you will need your parents or legal guardian permission.

Career Lab: The Career Lab offers reading and math tutorials. Youth customers can attend the Career Lab Monday through Thursday, from 8:30am - 12:00pm or from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Youth can advance through the training as quickly as they can, or if they need additional assistance, the Career Lab Facilitator can provide services.

One-Stop Partners: In some cases, youth customers will be referred to other agencies that can better serve their needs. AWDA partners are linked to the One-Stop Center and can offer many services to help youth customers become successful in their job training activities.
