ATLANTA FIRE & RESCUE APPLICATIONS

The Atlanta Fire & Rescue Department
will accept firefighter applications:

July 1, 2010 - August 31, 2010

Applications MUST BE POSTMARKED BY August 31, 2010

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. Applications postmarked after August 31, 2010 will not be accepted
  2. Incomplete applications will not be accepted

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A FIREFIGHTER POSITION?

Individuals interested in submitting a firefighter application must:
1. Complete an AWDA Online Pre-Application

2. Download the 2010 Firefighter Application
If you have previously completed the AWDA Online Pre-Application, click here to download the 2010 Atlanta Fire & Rescue Application.

3. Submit the 2010 Atlanta Fire & Rescue Application with signatures and copied of required documentation. (Listed on Page 3 of Application)

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY APPLICATION?

Completed applications must be submitted no later than August 31, 2010 to:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proof of citizenship or INS authorization to work in the US is required to apply for the position.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • No felony convictions
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces

Applications are processed on a first come first served basis, and appointments are made at the discretion of the Fire Chief. Once appointed, all personnel must maintain continuous certifications as a Georgia Fire Fighter and as a National Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician. While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, there is no appeal process for those applicants not selected.
