*Applications postmarked after July 31, 2009 will not be accepted
** Incomplete applications will not be accepted

 

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A FIREFIGHTER POSITION?
Individuals interested in submitting a firefighter application must:
1. Complete an AWDA Online Pre-Application
If you have already completed the AWDA Online Pre-Application,
please go to step 2.

2. Complete a 2009 Atlanta Fire & Rescue Application
Include all signatures and copies of required documentation (Listed on Page 3 of Application) 

 

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY ATLANTA FIRE & RESCUE APPLICATION?
All completed applications must be submitted no later than July 31, 2009 to:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proof of citizenship or INS authorization to work in the US is required to apply for the position.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • No felony convictions
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces

Applications are processed on a first come first served basis, and appointments are made at the discretion of the Fire Chief. Once appointed, all personnel must maintain continuous certifications as a Georgia Fire Fighter and as a National Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician.
