On March 9, 2007, the City of Atlanta Department of Human Resources held their annual Women’s History Month Celebration at the Omni Hotel/CNN Center. The event, themed “Generations of Women Moving City Government Forward”, honored several women selected from various City of Atlanta departments for being outstanding visionaries and developing means of doing business with the City that will stand the test of time.
Linda Wunch, an AWDA staff member since 2004 was honored with a 2007 National Women’s History Month Outstanding Achievement Award. Wunch has assisted significantly in AWDA’s effort to help City of Atlanta residents secure jobs and start their careers, enabling them to become self-sufficient. Linda has developed thousands of jobs throughout metro Atlanta, implemented AWDA’s Lunch and Learn program and currently manages the City’s First Source Jobs Program.
Also nominated for the prestigious award was Latrice Hood, a model 15-year employee who is described as “amiable with co-workers and prides herself in treating each and every customer who walks into AWDA with dignity and respect.” Hood is a member of AWDA’s Employment Team.
AWDA would like to honor both Wunch and Hood for their excellence in service to the City of Atlanta.
