The Seagram's Gin
"Pursuit of Excellence Institute"(TM)
Week One
“YOU HAVE A DREAM"

February 28 , 2008

Participants completed the first week of The Seagram's Gin Pursuit of Excellence Institute(TM). The theme of the first week, “You have a Dream”, helped to set the tone for creating program expectations, professional goals, and confidence. Program facilitator Jennifer Moore began the week by asking participants to “Take Action” and picture where they want to be. The following day, the participants met with Kevin Wilkinson, another AWDA staff member, to devise a plan to “Become your Own Best Friend” and find daily activities to strengthen relationships with themselves. On Saturday, AWDA’s Executive Director Deborah Lum, met with participants to discuss “How to Network Effectively” noting that sometimes it’s not what you know, but who you know.

The Seagram's Gin Pursuit of Excellence Institute(TM) would like to thank presenters Shean Atkins, an Executive Administrative Assistant with the Atlanta Housing Authority, and Rodney Turner, a music producer, for sharing their experiences with us this week.
