AWDA Applauds Board Member Geri Thomas in her new role with Bank of America

AWDA recognizes Board Member Geri Thomas, who was recently named state president of Georgia and Atlanta market for Bank Of America. In addition to her new position, Thomas will continue in her role as the top corporate diversity officer. The Georgia State University graduate and the Atlanta native has 35 years of experience with Bank of America, and was formerly the bank’s senior staffing executive for small business and commercial banking.
In 2009 Thomas was inducted as a member of the prestigious Executive Leadership Council. She was also appointed by the mayor of Atlanta, Shirley Franklin, to the serve on the board of the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency, which is dedicated to empowering residents to become educated, skilled and self-sufficient, leading to meaningful employment with local businesses, building an effective workforce and a vibrant, diverse economy.
“Geri’s leadership credentials, business experience throughout Georgia and the Southeast, and her commitment to the Atlanta community are excellent qualifications for the market and state president roles,” said Andrew Plepler, Bank of America Global Corporate Social Responsibility and Consumer Policy executive.
