ATLANTA YOUTH USE THEIR SPRING BREAK VACATIONS TO SEE IF THEY QUALIFY FOR SUMMER EMPLOYMENT AND/OR TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Students line up at the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency during their week off for Spring Break to see if they qualify for a summer employment or training opportunity through the Mayor’s Youth Program.
Students who are seniors in an Atlanta Public School or have a parent that works for the City of Atlanta, are being considered for summer employment and training opportunities. Some students are eligible to receive a paid internship through Federal Funding if they meet the certain requirements. Other students are being assigned an internship on a first come, first served basis.
Students must bring in the following documents in order to complete their files and interview for their summer opportunity:
- Work Permit (If under 17 years old)
- Social Security Card
- Georgia Id
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of Residence (Utility bill, gas, light, water or telephone)
To be eligible for Federal Funding, students must bring in one of the following:
- Food Stamp Letter
- Proof of Parent/Guardian Income (Last six Pay Stubs, Unemployment Letter, etc.)
- TANF Letter
- Social Security Income Letter
- Proof of Foster Care
The Mayor's Youth Program is located at 818 Pollard Blvd., SW, Atlanta GA 30315, and is easily accessible by Marta, Bus #49, from the Five Points Station. Our hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday!
